ReadingCAN is back this summer with the 5th annual Reading Climate Festival from the 8th to the 21st of June, for two weeks of events and activities to inspire and support Reading’s unique journey to a happier, healthier, net-zero town.
We’ll be running an online session where can find out more about us and how to “Volunteer with DraughtBusters”. You can sign up here. You’ll also find us on a stall at WaterFest and supporting other events such as the Reading Library of Things.
The programme has something for everyone – and all events are free to attend:
- A Youth Mobilisation Day organised by and for young people
- Events to help local businesses and schools design a climate and/or nature plan for their organisations
- A chance for your organisation to be part of a collective pledge to work towards net zero in Reading
- A sustainable fashion show curated from local charity shops
- Wellbeing walks and talks about our amazing local nature
- Events to help householders reduce bills and create warmer homes
- A Big Lunch in Forbury Gardens for the whole community, with music and climate-friendly food
- A climate communications campaign challenge
- Lots of insights into where Reading’s carbon emissions come from and who’s doing what about them…and much more.
